The examining university the University of the Cape of Good Hope, founded in 1873, was renamed the University of South Africa (Unisa) in 1916. In 2004 Unisa merged with Technikon Southern Africa and incorporated The Vista University Distance Education Campus. Unisa is Africa’s leading distance learning institution nurturing and inspiring leaders of tomorrow.
