The University of Nebraska Lincoln is a public institution, founded in 1869 as a land-grant facility. UNL is a land-grant university and a member of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU). Its 624-acre campus is located in Lincoln, 55 miles southwest of Omaha.
