King Abulaziz University (KAU) was founded in 1967 and honored to have the name of the founder of Saudi Arabia King Abdulaziz Ibn Soud. KAU graduates are known for their leading positions in the Kingdom and being well known internationally. It has over 4500 staff members holding PhD dgrees from reputable American/European Universities, and about 46000 students from 60 nationalities. KAU has over 80 international agreements with distinguished international universities, and its research output plays an important role in the society and its transfer to knowledge-based. It has 16 centres of research excellence, 24 scientific research chairs, and an endownment for supporting its research identity. Annual research funding reached 70 million USD. The quality of the academic and distance learning programs have been shown by obtaining 76 international accreditations from reputed American and European Associations. Three of KAU staff members were winners of KING FAISAL INTERNATIONAL PRIZE.
