These are the colleges and universities requiring COVID-19 vaccinations in some form for the start of the 2021-22 academic year. Some are mandating that faculty and students be vaccinated as well, while some are only requiring that students living on campus receive vaccines. Almost all of those listed below are accepting religious and medical exemptions.

The latest: Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf on Thursday vetoed a Republican-backed bill that would have prevented colleges, universities and other publicly funded organizations from requiring vaccine passports.
The decision was made in part because the bill also could have prevented state health officials from imposing other mandates during a crisis and restricted information related to COVID-19 data.
Currently, 29 colleges and universities in Pennsylvania have vaccine requirements, but all of them are private institutions – including Bucknell, Carnegie Mellon, Drexel, La Salle, Lehigh, Penn, Villanova and Penn. Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, which is public, recently backed off of its vaccine mandate.
Missing from the list are some very prominent universities, namely Penn State, Pittsburgh and Temple. Will Wolf’s veto perhaps prompt those institutions to go beyond simply encouraging populations to get vaccines?
Pennsylvania’s state vaccine numbers are still low compared with others in the Northeast. The percentage of those fully vaccinated is 49%, though more than 60% have gotten at least one dose.
