The event marks one of the first events held by a national entity exclusively aimed at agents, organisers have said.
Study Australia Global Agent Week was designed “especially for Australia’s global network of education agents” by the Study Australia partnership, consisting of Austrade, the government’s department of trade, and all state and territory study agencies.
The virtual event, which will take place from November 29 through to December 3, will give “valued agent partners around the world” the most up-to-date policy information, new resources and invaluable opportunities for networking.
Austrade has said the event will feature speakers from different departments of government, including Home Affairs and Education, Skills and Employment.
“The event will be streamed globally, across two time zones”
This will run alongside interactive sessions and “localised regional and market briefings”.
“The event will be streamed globally, across two time zones. Global information sessions will be complemented by country and region-based virtual sessions during the event,” explained Helen Kronberger, manager of international education (global engagement) at Austrade.
“This Study Australia Global Agent week event has been designed to actively support Australia’s education agents globally as our valued partners in the promotion of Study Australia opportunities.”
Members of the Association of Australian Education Representative in India have also been encouraged to attend.
“AAERI is fully supporting this initiative of Austrade,” said Ravi Lochan Singh, president of AAERI.
“AAERI places Austrade as a driver to the recovery efforts and will support the event that focusses on equipping the agents with all the tools that might be required from branding and marketing perspective.”
Officially, the week should be attended by global education agents from schools, higher education, vocational education and training, and English language intensive courses for overseas students.
Specific speakers are still to be confirmed.
“With the commencement of the return of the international students from December 2021, AAERI firmly believes near-normalcy will be restored in 2022 and international students will be able to travel to Australia in greater numbers for the 2022 intakes,” added Singh.

The aim of the event is to “equip our global agent network” with information regarding Australia’s study destinations, student support and employability services, as well as the crucial and pressing matter of student returns and arrival plans.
“The event program has been developed to ensure that education agents have ready access to relevant, up-to-date information concerning international student recruitment, student visas and student experience,” Kronberger noted.
Austrade has also made sure that the benefits of the week can continue past its end.
“Some in-person and in-language events are also planned to follow Study Australia Global Agent Week,” she added.
AAERI is also in support of Austrade in such future endeavours.
“AAERI is focused on rebuild and waiting for the arrival of International students take-off from December, albeit in smaller numbers,” explained Singh.
“The association places Austrade as a driver to the recovery efforts and will support the event that focusses on equipping the agents with all the tools that might be required from branding and marketing perspective.”
