The Technical University of Madrid (Universidad Politecnica de Madrid) is a Spanish technical university, sited in Madrid city. It was founded in 1971 as a result of the merging of different Technical Schools of Engineering and Architecture, mainly created in the 18th and 19th centuries. Its faculties, schools and research centres are located at four different campus: University City or Moncloa Campus, South Campus, Montegancedo Campus, and Downtown Campus. The Moncloa Campus obtained a recognition as an International Campus of Excellence in 2009.
